Selma Township is an economically progressive community in on the western outskirts of Cadillac. It is experiencing continuous growth due to its location to Cadillac, position on Lake Mitchell and its being adjacent to so many recreational opportunities in Wexford County.

This township is bisected by M-115, which is heavily traveled by tourists. It contains many small cottages and resorts, as well as some rural wooded areas to the north. Over one third of the township is in the Manistee National Forest.
